Deputy Managing Director Claire Bord has acquired World English Language rights for the second novel by bestselling author Annabelle Marx from Jenny Brown of Jenny Brown Associates.
Set against the backdrop of Edinburgh, New York, and Hollywood from 1910 to 1958, The Rebel of Seventh Avenue tells the sweeping story of a young dress designer, Maisie McIntyre, who rises from stitching seams in the backstreets of Edinburgh to creating highly sought-after couture for New York society. Through Maisie’s eyes, the novel explores the struggles and triumphs of underestimated women in the first half of the 20th century as they fought for equality in a male-dominated world.
Marx’s debut novel, The Herbalist’s Secret, was published by Storm in October 2023 and became a top ten Amazon bestseller.
