Deputy Managing Director Claire Bord has acquired World English Language rights (excluding Australia and New Zealand) for seven of Fiona McIntosh’s bestselling novels from Lisa Highton at Jenny Brown Associates. The acquired titles are The Orphans, The Spy’s Wife, The Pearl Thief, The Chocolate Tin, The Fallen Woman, The Champagne War and The Soldier’s Dram.
The deal marks a significant milestone for Storm as they welcome one of Australia’s most successful authors to their list. McIntosh, whose books have sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide, ranks as the seventh bestselling Australian adult fiction author of all time.
With over 40 published books to her name – including 17 historical novels, 6 crime novels, 12 adult fantasy novels and several children’s books – she has consistently topped bestseller lists with her fiction published by Penguin Books Australia. Her novels have been translated into over twelve languages. In addition to her writing career, McIntosh runs highly acclaimed masterclasses in Australia and the UK, sharing her expertise with aspiring authors.
McIntosh said:
“I’m excited to be joining Storm, which is at the forefront of digital publishing. Readers get in touch with me all the time eager to know when my books will be available in the UK and US. I’m so looking forward to connecting with new audiences in these markets and promising many more stories to escape with.”
Bord commented:
“Fiona’s extraordinary ability to craft rich, immersive historical narratives has already captivated over a million readers in Australia and New Zealand. From the sumptuous world of chocolate-making in The Chocolate Tin to the dangerous intrigue of The Spy’s Wife, Fiona’s masterful storytelling weaves unforgettable characters with meticulously researched historical detail. We are thrilled to be bringing these seven acclaimed books to a new readership in the UK and US.”
The novels will be released from March 2025 onwards. To find out more about Fiona, visit her website, or connect with her on Facebook and Instagram.
