Commissioning Editor Kate Smith has acquired World All Language rights, including film, TV and audio, for twelve novels from the bestselling women’s fiction author Eliza J. Scott. The deal includes three books in a brand-new series set in Yorkshire called The Inkwell Cottage, plus nine books in her beloved Life on the Moors series.

The Life on the Moors books will publish from September to November this year, while the first of The Inkwell Cottage series will be published in July next year.

Eliza J. Scott has already delighted readers with her Yorkshire-set Micklewick Bay books, including The Little Bookshop by the Sea, which reached the Amazon UK top 10 earlier this year.

Scott said:

“I’m beyond excited to be working with my wonderful editor Kate Smith and the rest of the fabulous, forward-thinking team at Storm again. Kate is a joy to work with, always insightful and encouraging, and her boundless enthusiasm is so infectious! The Life on the Moors series has a special place in my heart. I’ve been adding new books to it for so long, I’ve grown incredibly fond of the characters that reside within the pages; they now feel like old friends. Needless to say, after seeing how the team at Storm worked their magic on the Micklewick Bay series – still pinching myself that The Little Bookshop by the Sea is an Amazon UK Kindle top ten best seller! – I didn’t take a moment’s hesitation to snap-up their offer to republish the Life on the Moors books. I can’t wait to see what they have planned as they introduce the series to new readers. And I’m chomping at the bit for us to get started on the brand-new Inkwell Cottage stories later in the year!”

Smith commented:

“Eliza continues to delight readers with her ability to create such vivid, heartwarming worlds and to invent characters that feel like old friends. It has been wonderful to see how readers have embraced her Micklewick Bay series, and I’m thrilled that we’re now expanding our partnership with the publication of her utterly delightful, previously self-published series, Life on the Moors, and the very exciting new Inkwell Cottage series. I adore Eliza’s storytelling magic, and I can’t wait for more readers to discover her wonderful characters and communities!”
