Rachel Richardson has over fifteen years of experience in literary rights. She started her career at Rights People, a rights agency dedicated to children’s books, where she worked on globally known properties and internationally recognised award winners. Most recently she was Rights Director at Watson, Little, a long-established London-based literary agency with a broad list of authors. There, she brought the agency’s rights representation in house, building a foreign rights department from the ground up.
In 2024, Rachel launched Rich Lit Rights, a literary rights agency focusing on commercial adult fiction and children’s books. She oversees the international careers of bestselling authors at each stage of their career from debut and beyond, ensuring their continued success. She has unparalleled relationships with publishers and editors across the globe and works directly, except in Asia where she partners with top co-agents.
Aside from travel for work and pleasure, Rachel enjoys going to the theatre, listening to Taylor Swift, taking her son to museums, and doing triathlons very slowly. Originally from California, she lives in London.
