The Resistance Knitting Club explores the untold story of brave women who turned their needlework into acts of espionage.

Deputy Managing Director Claire Bord acquired World All Language rights in ebook, paperback, and audio from Nicola Barr at The Bent Agency.

The Resistance Knitting Club is inspired by the remarkable true stories of women who used knitting patterns to encode vital intelligence during WWII. The novel follows Leonora “Lenny” Gallienne, a young woman from Guernsey who discovers her talent for embedding Morse code messages in her knitting stitches becomes an invaluable skill when she joins the Special Operations Executive (SOE).

Bord commented:

“Jenny has crafted an absolutely captivating story that reveals the ingenious ways women contributed to the war effort. The idea that something as everyday as knitting could become a tool of espionage is both fascinating and deeply moving.”

O’Brien said:

“As both a knitter and a writer, I’m delighted that Claire Bord saw my vision for bringing these two passions together in The Resistance Knitting Club.”

The Resistance Knitting Club will be published on 6th February 2026 in ebook, audio and paperback.
