Editorial Director Vicky Blunden has acquired World English Language rights in ebook, print and audio to a new historical trilogy and ebook and print rights to two backlist standalones by established author Juliet Greenwood, from Judith Murdoch at the Judith Murdoch Literary Agency.
The Child from Berlin will publish in March 2027 and is an emotional and gripping historical novel set on the eve of war in a castle outside Berlin and on a family estate in Cornwall. Told from the perspectives of a little girl caught up in the march towards war and a woman escaping an unhappy marriage, it is a profoundly moving story of complicity and courage, of mothers and daughters, and of the stubborn acts of love that outlast even the cruellest of wars. The second and third books in the series will publish in June 2027 and February 2028. Two previously published historical novels, The Girl with the Silver Clasp and The Ferryman’s Daughter, will publish in January 2027.
Greenwood says,
“I couldn’t be more delighted to be returning to Storm with my next trilogy. I loved Storm’s professionalism and enthusiasm when it came to my previous novels, and I’m particularly excited to be working again with Vicky Blunden to make these new books the best they can be. Let the adventure begin!”
Blunden says,
“We’re so happy to be publishing more of Juliet’s deeply moving and immersive historical novels and introducing more readers to her fiercely independent, courageous heroines. She brings the past to life and makes you feel you’re living each moment with her characters, and I can’t wait to see her fans fall in love with these stories.”
Juliet Greenwood is a historical novelist inspired by the histories of the women in her family, whose novels explore how strong-minded and independent women have overcome the limitations imposed on them by the constraints of their time, and the way in which generations of women hold families and communities together in times of crisis, including during WW2. She is the author of eight historical novels which have been top 100 Kindle bestsellers in the UK and USA.
