Editorial Director Vicky Blunden has acquired World All Language rights in the third book in the Hearts of Glass series by established historical novelist Clare Flynn.

Clare Flynn is the author of sixteen books and is loved by readers for her epic, sweeping novels set during vividly realised turbulent times. The Hearts of Glass series is set in the build-up to and early years of World War 1. The first two books in the series, The Artist’s Apprentice and The Artist’s Wife, were published in February 2024 and the third book, The Artist’s War, will publish in September 2024.

Flynn says,

“Writing The Artist’s War was a fascinating challenge as I wanted to do justice to several important subjects: the enormity of the Western Front seen through the eyes of the often-forgotten figure of a stretcher bearer; the sorrows and fears of women on the Home Front; and the secret life of a homosexual man in Edwardian England, living at risk despite being a decorated war hero. All this woven together with a sub-plot involving war profiteering, embezzlement and betrayal. I hope readers will enjoy reading it as much as I loved writing it.”
