Storm Publishing today announced the launch of Notorious Press, a true crime imprint with one mission: to uncover the stories no one else has told. The imprint will be led by Claire Bord, Deputy Managing Director at Storm Publishing, who previously published Gregg Olsen’s bestselling Detective Megan Carpenter series and acclaimed titles American Mother and Starvation Heights at Bookouture. Olsen, a #1 New York Times bestselling and two-time Edgar Award-nominated author widely recognised as a defining voice in true crime, will spearhead the list. The deal was brokered by Susan Raihofer at the David Black Agency.

Olsen has sold millions of copies worldwide, with his work reaching more than 8 million readers worldwide across print, ebook, audio, and Kindle Unlimited, including his mega bestseller, If You Tell, which spent more than 260 weeks in the Amazon Top 20. His books have been translated into more than thirty languages and his work honoured by the Mystery Writers of America and International Thriller Writers, cementing his position as a master storyteller. Olsen is an executive producer of hit Netflix true-crime drama, Amish Stud: The Eli Weaver Story, which is based on his true crime book A Killing in Amish Country. Two more of Olsen’s books are going into production this spring – Abandoned Prayers and If I Can’t Have You.

Notorious Press will launch in October 2026 with Ordinary Wife, publishing simultaneously in hardback and trade paperback – available in bookshops across the United States and Canada as part of Storm’s partnership with Two Rivers. It will also be published in ebook and audio.

The book is co-authored by Gregg Olsen and his daughter, Morgan Olsen, marking the first collaboration between the father-daughter duo. Robbin Lassen, Olsen’s longtime research and production director, will continue her close collaboration with Olsen as part of the Notorious Press team.

Ordinary Wife tells the chilling story of American serial killer Lyda Trueblood. Trueblood murdered multiple husbands and lovers in a method so shocking it has become infamous: she poisoned them using flypaper to extract deadly toxins, revealing how evil can hide behind the trusted façade of a seemingly devoted wife and mother.

In addition to Ordinary Wife, Notorious Press will publish Cruel Deception, A Twisted Faith, and Abandoned Prayers across ebook and print in the UK and Commonwealth and audio formats in all markets. These titles will release in September, October, and November 2026, respectively. Notorious Press will publish ebook and print editions for the UK and Commonwealth, while audio editions will be released worldwide, including North America. Two further Gregg and Morgan Olsen books are scheduled for Notorious Press, Are You Lonesome Tonight: Two Women, Two Murders, in a Time of Secrecy in September 2027 and a third title in September 2028. Are You Lonesome Tonight revisits the 1961 Oregon case involving the murder of two young children, drawing on previously unreleased trial transcripts and new interviews to examine the tragic consequences of a forbidden relationship in mid-century America – a case that drew the attention of Truman Capote.

Olsen continues to publish crime fiction and contemporary true crime with Thomas & Mercer. The Notorious Press partnership represents a new avenue for his work, with a particular focus on titles co-authored with Morgan Olsen and expanded international and audio reach.

Gregg Olsen commented:

“Sharing untold stories with readers has driven my entire career, and that’s why the Notorious Press is a dream realised for me. Partnering with the brilliant Claire Bord, my true-crime-raised daughter Morgan, and our head researcher—the tenacious and resourceful Robbin—means our readers will discover fresh perspectives on historic true crimes they may never have encountered before. I couldn’t be more excited that Ordinary Wife will launch this new chapter.”

Claire Bord, Deputy Managing Director of Storm Publishing said:

“Gregg Olsen’s ability to combine deep investigative reporting with profound psychological insight has redefined the genre for millions of readers. With true crime podcasts fuelling an insatiable appetite for fresh cases, there’s never been a better time to uncover the crimes history forgot. Launching Notorious Press with Gregg and Morgan allows us to build a dedicated home for these untold stories and Ordinary Wife is the perfect title to launch the imprint: a forgotten piece of American criminal history brought to vivid life.”

The launch of Ordinary Wife will be supported by a high-profile, multi-channel marketing and publicity campaign, designed to generate national and international attention.
