The book returns readers to the World War II Milwaukee glimpsed in Morris’s debut, this time set in the Third Ward, where it explores the city’s Sicilian diaspora against the backdrop of America’s home front. At its heart is a young Deaf woman searching for the truth about a family shaped by immigration and war. Steeped in rich history and family secrets, it joins The Last Letter from Sicily and Beneath the Sicilian Stars and is set to publish in Summer 2027.
